Problemas para ver codigo XML

Hola compañeros, soy nuevo aquí, he encontrado esta página buscando la manera de solucionar un problemilla que tengo, y es que tras ser bastante torpe con el tema de la informática no se me ocurre otra cosa que complicarme la vida buscando una apariencia más agradable a mi blog.
Tengo un blog en blogger y me gustaría cambiarle la apariencia para que sea más ameno y acojedor en cuanto al tema de las fotos.

He estado buscando por la web a ver que podía conseguir para cambiar el "skin" o "template" de mi blog, y en ésta página: http://btemplates.com he encontrado varios que no están nada mal. Aunque el problema viene que cuando una vez descargado, descomprimo el archivo .rar y me abre el archivo .xml me abre una nueva página en el explorador la cual dice esto:

No se puede mostrar la página XML
No se puede ver la entrada XML con la hoja de estilo . Corrija el error y haga clic en el botón Actualizar, o inténtelo de nuevo más tarde.

Agradeceré muchísimo vuestra ayuda ya que de verdad me veo negado en temas como este. Espero ahora que he descubrido esta web, poder ponerme un poquito más en el hilo.

Por favor, explicarme fácil y entendiblemente ya que no conozco para nada este mundo y seguramente me pierda unas cuantas veces en el intento.

Gracias por la información Foley, creo que me vendrá muy bien una vez consiga el código, el problema es que no logro sacar el código, tendré algún tipo de cortafuegos o algo por el estilo ya que he probado descargar algún otro código de esa misma página y me sale el mismo error.

Alguien puede comprovar si el archivo de descarga es válido o sólo me pasa a mi?

Ahora que he conseguido encontrar una apariencia que me gusta, como es el caso de la llamada Photoplus, veo que no consigo solucionar el problema y no me da el código el archivo descargado.

Yo me comí mucho el coco con esto, y me pasaba lo mismo que a ti.

Para conseguir el código tienes que darle a descargar el fichero de la plantilla, descomprimirlo y una vez tengas el archivo .xml ábrelo con un editor de texto tipo bloc de notas o notepad++ y ya verás su código fuente. Solo copia y pégalo en el editor de html de tu panel del blog.

Pues algún problema tendré por lo que no me dejaba ver el código, ahora lo he probado y sí funciona, sólo me falta configurarlo a mi gusto.
