Puede hacerlo en el archivo de estilo del menu desplegable que usted dice, como por ejemplo el color de las letras antes de poner el cursor encima y después de poner el cursor encima, como también el fondo o decorar las flechas, claro que para el fondo activo y el no activo y la imagen de las flechas debe primero sacar esas imagenes de la carpeta objetos (recuerde que son imagenes y que están en su carpeta objetos) y modificar sus colores con un programa de edicion de imagenes (Photoshop etc.), le dejaré una muestra de como puede quedar el menu desplegable
